Music that gets under your skin
Messiaen's masterpiece in the European city: The French composer Olivier Messiaen proved that music does not divide, but unites, when he composed his masterpiece ‘Quartet on the End of Time’ while imprisoned in the Stalag VIII A prisoner of war camp in Görlitz (now Zgorzelec) and performed it for the first time in the camp on 15 January 1941.
